Theatre Show and a Panel Discussion to mark the end of the campaign «The 16 Days of Activism Against Gender Violence» and the Human Rights Day
Before the show, Ms. Nada Drobnjak, Head of the Office for Gender Equality of the Government of Montenegro and Mr. Garret Tankosić Kelly, UNDP Resident Representative a.i./UN Interagency Focal Point in Montenegro addressed the audience reminding them of the Article 2 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights: “Everyone is entitled to all the rights and freedoms set forth in this Declaration, without distinction of any kind, such as race, colour, sex, language, religion, political or other opinion, national or social origin, property, birth or other status.” Mr. Tankosić Kelly said: “At present, the gender reality in Montenegro is not encouraging. Some institutions seem to show too little understanding for such an important issue. Still, the UNDP in Montenegro managed to identify visionary partners among civil society organizations and institutions and to employ joint efforts in making equality reality. Our first partner in this job is the Governmental Office for Gender Equality, and our second partner is 51% of population in Montenegro who are women. It is my pleasure to share the message of this particular event with them. « After the show a panel discussion took place facilitated by the representatives from the Government Office for Gender Equality, with the participation of the viewers, the actors from the show as well as the representatives from the Center for Civic Education and the SOS Center Podgorica. |
