Support to the Goverment of Montenegro to comply with the obligations of the  Rio Conventions

The UNDP Montenegro has been selected as the implementing agency for three projects supported by the Global Environment Facility (GEF). The main objective of these projects is to enable the Government of Montenegro to comply with the obligations under the three Rio Conventions, namely, the UN Framework Convention for Climate Change (UNFCCC), UN Convention on Biological Diversity and the UN Convention to Combat Desertification.

The following three projects are currently in implementation:

• GEF National Capacity Self Assessment (NCSA)
• GEF Biodiversity Strategy, Action plan and First National report (BSAP)
• GEF Preparation of the Initial National Communication (INC) to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC)
